Patrick Robinson Consulting / Calculators & quote tools

“Can you give me a price?”
is only the beginning.

Before you can answer, you may need dimensions, quantities, materials, locations or a dozen other details. A name, email address and empty message box can leave your team to collect the rest.

I build calculators and guided enquiries around the questions your business actually needs answered. Customers get a clearer way to explain their job. Your team gets an organised brief to review.

See both sides of the enquiry

A few useful questions.
A clearer starting point.

This original example uses a fictional printed-panel job. Change the dimensions, quantity or finish to see the allowance and the business brief update together.

What would you like made?

Try the sample or change the details. Nothing is sent or saved for later. Please use fictional job details.

Illustrative rules: $30 setup + $4 per panel + $75/m² for matte or $87/m² for gloss. Invented demonstration figures, not a supplier quote or my service prices. Taxes, delivery and real production costs are not modelled.

Still to confirm: artwork, material, suitability, delivery and final price. This brief stays on this page. A live delivery route would be agreed and tested for your business.

A capability demonstration, not a client project or a claim about sales results. Your own questions, rules and delivery process would be agreed separately.

Built around your actual process

Sometimes a calculator.
Sometimes better questions.

Give a useful indication.

If your pricing rules support it, a calculator can show an allowance or range, explain the assumptions and flag what still needs checking.

Quantities, areas and dimensions can be useful calculations even when a price needs your judgement.

Collect a better brief.

When every job is different, a guided enquiry can ask relevant follow-up questions, allow “I’m not sure”, and bring the answers together for your team.

Drawings, uploads or connections to your existing tools can be scoped where they help.

What we agree before the build.

  1. The customer journey.

The questions, choices, calculations and uncertainties the tool needs to handle.

  2. The business handover.

What your team receives, where it goes, and how it fits your existing workflow.

  3. The delivery scope.

Platform access, testing, revisions, price, timing and any hosting, storage or support costs.

Can this work with my existing website?

Often, but I check the platform and the access available first. An embedded tool or a linked page may be suitable. Your current supplier’s permissions and contract can affect the options.

Do I have to show prices?

No. The tool can calculate useful quantities or simply collect a structured enquiry. A final quote can stay with your team.

What will it cost?

I quote the agreed job once we understand the questions, calculations and delivery route. Any software, hosting or support costs are identified before you commit.
